Starting with CST Studio Suite

A high-performance software such as the CST Studio Suite is created to design, analyse and optimise electromagnetic (EM) components and systems. It is a powerful tool for creating antenna designs and filters, showing electro-mechanical effects in motors and generators, thermal effects or EM exposure on the human body. It has a student version for beginner level and easier designs.
The latest research on antennas tres to reduce the radiation in smart wearable devices such as rings, bracelets, smart watches etc. Not only testing new, novel designs but testing with eco-friendly, biodegradable layers and antenna elements to help the global waste reduction. It is also used in telecommunication for fifth generation (5G) technologies and currently to create even faster data transfer for 6G.
In this article, I will go through the very first steps of starting a new project in CST Studio Suite in student edition with step-by-step images showing each step.
Opening up the software you will see the following screen: IMAGE
Click on New and Recent tab on top right corner, then click New Template.
Click on Microwaves&RF/Optical and the first button: Antennas and click Next.
Choose Planar (Patch, Slot, etc.) to start with a microstrip patch antenna and click Next to continue.
Few solvers will appear and we choose a solver for the Time Domain and click Next. The solver can be changed later if necessary.
